Wireless IP QoS ∗

چکیده
This paper presents an overview of the Wireless IP QoS. Covering wireless communications paradigms, Internet QoS including QoS provisioning at different layers, IntServ and DiffServ frameworks, as well as MultiProtocol Label Switching, Resource ReSerVation Protocol, QoS Unicast and Multicast routing. We identify some important issues for Wireless IP QoS including mobility at both macro and micro levels and handoff problems and protocols.

Mobile flow-aware networks for mobility and QoS support in the IP-based wireless networks
As the volume of mobile traffic consisting of video, voice, and data is rapidly expanding, a challenge remains with the mobile transport network, which must deliver data traffic to mobile devices without degrading the service quality. Since every Internet service holds its own service quality requirements, the flow-aware traffic management in fine granularity has been widely investigated to gua...

متن کاملQoS Provisioning for Mobile IP Users
In wireless access networks bandwidth is a limited resource. Therefore, Mobile IP users will demand to receive QoS support. However, in a highly dynamic environment — as mobile environments — QoS provisioning is a difficult task. In this paper we propose a signaling protocol for mobile users to contact a bandwidth broker for negotiation QoS for a flow. This protocol can also be used for negotia...
متن کاملLayered view of QoS issues in IP-based mobile wireless networks
With the convergence of wireless communication and IP-based networking technologies, future IP-based wireless networks are expected to support real-time multimedia. IP services over wireless networks (e.g. wireless access to Internet) enhance the mobility and flexibility of traditional IP network users. Wireless networks extend the current IP service infrastructure to a mix of transmission medi...
